Why diets are totally unsuccessful in Delhi

Let me begin by not offending anyone – Delhi is definitely filled with dieticians and other nutritionists who would definitely be lovely and effective.

I am just here to tell you my story – how I lead a very average (and dull) life and yet the biggest challenge of my life is following my diet.

Let me start with my day – I wake up every morning at 6:00am (unfortunately). I stay lazily in bed for five-seven minutes and once I have sufficient conscience, I go to freshen up. By around 6:50am, I am all fresh and ready. At that moment, my mother would bring me breakfast. This would normally be two eggs and anything else that I desired. Sometimes ofcourse I want other things and my mother is more than happy to cook anything that I would remotely suggest to wish to eat.

Then I go to office where everyone wants to have breakfast. Breakfast is chhole kulche, patty, maggie or sandwich. Sometimes others would get stuff there like gram pulse or biscuits and then eat that at the desk.

At lunch, the office serves three vegetables, rice, roti, dahi, salad and often something special which is another word for fried.

In the evening, everyone wants to go for tea where they would get some biscuits.

On several occasions, people order sweets and snacks for everyone in the team.

Getting outside the office, I live in Delhi where I guess there is a food stall at every corner of every road. Sometimes there are more. This point I believe is true for any city but here I will speak for only Delhi.

I go to gym and then I come back home. My mom never misses a chance to offer me food. She actually takes pleasure to give me as much food as I could possibly eat without bursting.

Now another thing about me – I love food. I also love to take care of myself but I am pretty sure that I love food more – since there are so many different things I love to eat and there is just one me.

Come to think of it – with so much food around, how am I supposed to follow a diet which is raw or boiled vegetables?
