The Law of Attraction – let’s start!

Law of Attraction is a beautiful thing. However, this is not related to couples or any form of relationships. This law is the law of the Universe. When we call this a law of the universe, it simply means that this law holds true universally.

Now, I would not be truthful if I said that I understand the law completely. But I know this enough to tell you a few things that might help you get started.

Foremost, law of attraction is not a new law or concept. This has been around for decades. Yet I do believe that there are plenty who do not know about it or do not truly understand it’s potential. I was the second kind for sometime.

So the law of attraction (unlike most laws of physics) simply states that whatever you truly wish for, comes to you. No exceptions. Life is not meant for you to suffer. Life and the Universe wants you to be grand and ever expanding. All you need to do is – ask!

Simple… Right? Again I might have worded it differently than how you would find it on the internet (try searching for the law – you will find out that it’s been around for pretty long a time) but this is the crux.

Now I am sure that like most people, you would have the follow up question – everyone wants to be great then why isn’t everyone great? Why does anyone suffer at all? Definitely no one wants the suffering… Do they? No. And yes.

Well people who understand the law, understand this – every second (even every micro second) is the opportunity for you to create what you desire. Today I might wish for a million dollars. I make the wish. It’s like sending an order to Amazon – I ordered for a million dollars. Then I start cribbing about how I never have enough. DING. another order placed at Amazon – I never have enough. This order cancels the first one. Then I think – oh! Why are there so many bills? DING DING. order number 3 – so many bills!

Well simply think of the Universe as the Google Assistant or Alexa – they take every word you say, seriously. This is not a flaw of the law but this is the way the law works.

It might feel that it is faulty but trust me, this is because we are not trained enough. In reality, this exact feature makes the law even more powerful.

Well now it’s the time to understand one more thing before we can move onto how to actually start using the law of attraction. The thing is – the power of thoughts! Yes, thoughts – that imaginary voice that keeps saying something or the other inside your head. The one that keeps you awake when you are really tired. The one that is reading these words with you. Those thoughts are immensely poweful.

Let’s understand the power of our own thoughts in two ways – whenever we are upset for any reason, we think of other bad times. We keep on reliving old conversations in our heads. Keep thinking of what we should have said or done differently. But tell me honestly? Has that thinking ever changed the past? Instead you jump from one bad memory to next and then to the next. Your mood is now worse and then your head starts to ache or you feel fatigue. One negative thought was powerful enough to cause all of this. That one thought invited many of your bad memories. Eventually all of them were heavy on you so much that it started presenting itself as something that you could physically feel.

That much power! Phew…

Now think of another scenario. You are all alone listening to your playlist. You listen to the song that brings back memories of your goodtimes with your family or friends. Let’s say you think about a certain group of friends. You think of how much they mean to you. You think of how much fun it is to hang out with them. You start wishing to meet them.

You might not have noticed so far but try to notice these things from now. Whenever anyone is in such a situation, there are just two things that happen.

– you feel really happy. And you are bound to receive some good news. It may be small or big but you will certain receive a news that lifts your spirits further still.

– you either get a call or a text from one of the friends that you were thinking about or you get a call or a text from someone with whom you can share similar happy moments with and about whom you feel equally fondly.

If I have been able to showcase you, then you would understand that thoughts attract like thoughts. Also, thoughts have the power to change physical reality. It may do harm or do good – depending on how it was.

Now when I circle back to wishing having a million dollars – it is just a wish. I thought about getting money. But am I thinking about getting money or am I thinking about not having enough money? If I think oh! It would be great to have a million dollars that I don’t have right now. This thought will bring the thoughts like not being able to pay bills, not having enough money, not being able to afford pretty things, etc. And they all get so strong that one would end up losing money than getting some.

So, what to do with the Law of Attraction?

Glad you asked. Let’s see two things we can start doing.

Staying Happy
When I started implementing law of attraction, I had just read one book about it. All I understood was the like thoughts attract each other. Now if given a choice, I am going to choose happiness. So I made that choice.

Every day, every second – I made a conscious choice. To remain happy. To do things that would make me happy. Sure I couldn’t buy a big house to make myself happy but I could read a book that makes me happy. I could watch a good movie. I could spend sometime with my family. I could speak to friends. I could pick up a new happy. I tried all these things. And in general, I became a happier person. It’s not the case that I was never sad or angry. It just happened that mostly I avoided situations that would have otherwise made me sad or angry. I didn’t have to avoid the situations. The circumstances were such that I found myself less and less in those situations. And I was happy!

You don’t really need any law to make this conscious choice – stay happy. Prioritise your happiness. It may seem selfish if you just read it. But once you do start understanding the law of attraction, this will make sense.

Try… Fail… Repeat… Achieve
This is the second thing you can do without understanding the law. We have all heard – try and try till you succeed. This is similar to that saying.

This can also simply be said as to have faith or to believe in law of attraction. If you believe that happy thoughts will bring more happy thoughts to you and eventually they will collectively bring happy experiences, you will start making the choice of your happiness more easily. And sub-consciously. It will not any longer be a choice that you need to think about.

Yes, if you are starting with law of attraction, I won’t lie, this will take time. Depending on how much you have faith in the process it might take a week or more. Hence believing is as important as the law. And not quiting is hence, equally necessary.

Yes, you might fail 5 times on day 1. No worries. You will always have day 2. Try again. Did you fail more than once? No worries again. There is day 3. Every sunrise is a new opportunity for you to try again. And remember think of just one day at a time. Let’s not over-commit. We are just beginning a beautiful journey.

Let me share something that I have discovered over the last few months. The law of attraction is what I told you. A simple rule or a law that the universe follows. I can jumble up some words or experiment with the vocabulary a bit but the core remains the same.

Yet I can and other people have written plenty of books on this. There are just so many things about this. How to begin? Where to begin? Meditations!

And the reasons that I became a believer – this law seems to be able to satisfactorily justify all my questions.

For this sole purpose, I am trying to show you the law and its power. I hope this brings you joy and love and success!
