Seat in a Metro : Ladies Special
If you have ever travelled by the Delhi Metro or have a basic idea about it, you would know how the Seats are divided, still let me give a brief intro – basically – The first compartment is reserved for ladies only (except in the violet line – as far as I am aware). Any male passenger is requested not to travel by this. 4 seats per compartment are marked for ladies. 12 seats per compartment (except in the first and the last compartment where only 8 seats) are marked for the old or the physically challenged passengers. Now whenever a new girl enters the metro compartment, she will…

The Train
While browsing the Merriam Webster portal today, I checked that they have few interesting quizzes, word of the day section, puzzles like daily sudoku and interesting articles. Having checked the word of the day for the day and past week, found that I have a better score than the average score for my age in a vocabulary quiz and having played a game of sudoku in under five minutes, I turned to the interesting and informative articles! For someone like me – who loves to read, who loves to learn, who loves to learn new languages and who wants to improve their proficiency in the English language, these articles are…

The Sunset
Looking out of the window, I look as the rooftops bath in a deep golden shade of the setting Sun. The rays reflected by the glass on the other windows and on the tiny cars scurrying the road beneath, is making anything else, hard to see. The trees are silent as though absorbing the maximum sunlight before being engulfed by the dark night. Even though I get to see this view frequently, it has still never failed to amaze me. I can’t help winder how perfectly and beautifully our world has been architect-ed. How the rays know exactly where to fall and which angle to make at the exact moment,…

The Alarm Clock
Every morning, I wake up to my parents endless (and quite effective) efforts. Half in the dreamland and half right here, I make my way through the usual tasks, that are so mastered that I can do them even in complete sleep. Next I leave for my bus stop where I need to await the bus. Waiting for the bus is another experience in itself. Every day I will see the same set of people rushing by. Before my bus should reach the stop I await at, a number of buses pass by. The same buses and almost the same schedule every day. There is a bus which has K…

Be the Change!!
“When difficult times come, people change.” – This is not something that you might have heard for the first time but it definitely is something that I heard today with a very different meaning. I was watching the latest Bollywood movie Airlift, starring Akshay Kumar. The movie is about how the Indians escaped the adverse conditions in Kuwait post Iraq’s attack. Now, like all Akshay movies, this is definitely a movie worth the watch. Bigger than that, however, the reason why I really saw the movie is because of ‘Kuwait’. Kuwait forms a part of my childhood. And not just childhood, Kuwait has given me some really amazing memories that…

Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it
You know, there are these quotes from Harry Potter that have actually become so close to our heart. We know them like we know to breathe and they come to us as easy as breathing does. And yet sometimes these quotes are the ones that surprise us the most. Some while back, I did a stupid mistake in office. And it would have had a huge impact. (God, even though my boss knows about this, please don’t let him read this blogpost ever!!) Anyways, the moment I realized what I did (which was a moment after doing it)… I officially freaked out! I was so scared and my hands started…
