Madhumati : Old Movie Review
Madhumati is an old Bollywood movie that released in 1958 and stars Dilip Kumar, Vyajantimala, Pran and Johnny Walker in pivotal roles. For me, this is a special movie since this is the first black and white movie that I ever saw. I saw this movie again today – probably for the second or the third time in my entire life so far. Seeing the movie after such a long time shed light on several features I did not pay attention to earlier. Caution: This contains spoilers about Madhumati movie and Om Shanti Om (starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone) movie. Why should you watch the movie? It is a…

Dr. Cabbie : Movie Review
Okay… Firstly, if you have not heard about this, let me tell you. Dr. Cabbie is a movie. It is financed by Salman Khan and you might have heard about it because it stars Isabelle Kaif, Katrina’s younger sister. I came across this movie a little differently. It stars Kunal Nayyar, Rajesh Koothrapalli of The Big Bang Theory. Initially, I thought that he was the protagonist but he is not. However, I am really glad that I got to know about the movie. The movie started with Deepak (Vinay Virmani) who graduates as a doctor from Delhi. He then travels to Canada where his Uncle lives. He wants to help…

Gravity
Anyone who thinks that this is a movie review – I am sorry to disappoint you… but “Itni aukat nahi hai meri ke itni mast movie ka review likhne ka soch sakun!!” i.e. “I am not a person worthy to even think of writing a review for a movie of such a calibre!!” IT IS ONE HELL OF A STORY!! Still, there will be loads of SPOILERS!! Well… so the movie is about a team of 5 – 6 people who go out in space for a space mission. 2 of them – Matt (short of Mathew) and Shariff, are roaming around in space while one Dr. Ryan Stone…

Ek Villain : Movie Review
This is truly and definitely one of the most beautiful scripts to be made into a movie. I know there would be several people who would term this movie as ‘idealistic’ – something that is never likely to occur in real life but, for this very reason, hats off to the story writer and the creators. People like ‘Aisha’ (Shraddha Kapoor’s character name) are definitely too few. One thing that I know for sure, someone who created a character such as Aisha and who believed that someone like Guru (Siddharth Malhotra’s character name) could change so drastically, is definitely keeping the goodness alive. So for that very thing, for the…

Safe Haven : Movie Review
Okay, firstly let me make this really clear – I never, NEVER prophesize to see a movie prior to reading the book. Ofcourse, if you have read the book, the movie just gets lamentable; it picks out the enigma and you are just there to point to the differences and the missing scenes; worst of all, you are stuck for a good 2 hours or so, just to see how the director’s interpretation is so different from your own inference. Still, the story that you read is way better than seeing it. In a movie, you are already presented with actor and actresses potraying different characters that seem to…

Movie Review : Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana
You know, I have never really understood my friends when they spend hours watching a south-Indian movie. I don’t really ever get why would anyone want to see those movies in the first place!! No I am not promoting Hindi Cinema, I myself watch a lot of English movies and I also understand people watching Korean movies, but never South-Indian. Part of my this opinion is from the movies that keep running and rerunning throughout and forever on our Hindi movie channels like Star Gold and Set Max. I mean, oh for the love of God, those movies lack story!! There is always a goofy character… there is always…
